In Edisto

When the squeals are so high pitched that you think the glass will crack....

y'know you're getting close to Edisto.

When the sun is swallowed up by the water everyday....

y'know you're watching that in Edisto.

When water, sand and your best friend are just enough....

y'know you're playin' in Edisto.

When you remember flying your first kite....

y'know you must have been in Edisto.

When you're so dead dog tired, you could fall asleep when the sun is still up....

y'know you were in Edisto.

When all you need is the wind to make the biggest bubbles....

Yep. Edisto.

When you will actually pose for a picture when Mom asks...

Oh Yea, for sure. We were in Edisto.

When Nettie stays in the ocean with you for hours....

mmmm hmmmm. Edisto.

When you have your first "Man versus The Sea" fishing battle....

Yea Man... We were in Edisto.

3rd Grade

Please bear with me but I must take a minute to brag on my big ole' Big...

He finished 3rd grade in perfect form this year! After a real tricky start, he was able to pull off straight A's all year and a spot in the 3rd grade spelling bee (finsihed 6th - he will always remember how to spell echo now). He also made the basketball team and has joined the school's academically gifted club. I feel like he is more confident than ever and we're so happy that he's finding his way!

He also just got his "summer haircut" and after getting a cryptic message in his fortune cookie a couple of months ago that told him he would have a summer romance, he believes a true love story is surely on its way.

So after his last day of school, we went to Chick Fil A where there was a band of "hot chicks" from another school that had also just finished up. One of the girls asked Big where he went to school and Big's pretty sure she was "hitting on him". He wanted to turn inside out because of how gross the thought of love is but I could also tell by his red faced grin, that "getting hit on" really made his day.

Because of the fortune cookie, he's pretty sure they will meet again someday.
